OSHA SAFETY AWARENESS AND FUNDAMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM (OSHA SAFE)

 

SSCL Team has been able to secure highly prestigious and competitive OSHA Susan Harwood Grant for the past six years (2014-present). With this grant, the safety team has provided more than 20,000 training hours to construction workers in El Paso and several neighboring cities (Las Cruces, Horizon, Socorro, Flint, Canutillo, Anthony).  These workers are union and non-union workers working with small businesses, small contractors and have limited/non-English proficiency.

Principal Investigaor

Dr. Adeeba Raheem, specializes in the area of 
Construction Safety. She has multiple MS degrees in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, as well as a PhD degree in Construction Management (specializing in construction safety) from The University of Florida.

Professor Austin Marshall

Co-Principal Investigator

Austin Marshall, JD, PE, has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years on many types of projects, including tunnels, earth dams, highways, high-rise buildings, and power plants.

Nubia Medina

Outreach/Recruiting Manager

Nubia I. Medina has over 10 years of experience in management, marketing, sales, merchandising, and customer service in fast-paced, performance-critical environments. She has served as a marketing director with various organizations in the medical field and coordinated and conducted training and professional development opportunities for staff.
